Kyoshin Ryu Jiu-Jitsu was founded on September 27th, 1992 in Toronto, Canada by Soke Shawn F. Rodie. Its comprehensive curriculum, method of teaching and application of technique make it a distinct ryu, which has a focus on preserving traditional Japanese values.
The Federation was instituted on November 1st, 1995. Its main purpose is to oversee and maintain the high standards of Kyoshin Ryu Jiu-Jitsu.
